Laura Warren Barge has been a professional musician for more than 30 years. After studying classical music at Springfield College of Illinois, she continued her education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating in the late 1980s. While at Berklee, she developed a passion for contemporary music and expanded her repertoire beyond the classics.

Laura's musical style spans Contemporary Country, Pop, Folk, Jazz Standards, Rhythm & Blues, and other forms of modern Americana music. Following college, she spent more than a decade touring the country with bands including Black And Blue, Cruzin, Legacy, After Hours, and X-Factor, Brass Rewind building a reputation as a versatile and engaging performer.

Today, Laura resides in North Kansas City, where she performs at a variety of venues, maintains a thriving private voice and piano studio.

Laura is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and JEMS. Her contributions to the Kansas City jazz community have earned her numerous accolades, including KC Favorite Jazz Vocalist and KC Favorite Jazz Entertainer at the 2024 Jazz Ambassadors' JAM Awards. She was also nominated for Best KC Jazz Vocalist by KC Jazz Ambassadors (JAM Magazine) in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

In addition to her performance career, Laura has been recognized in several regional publications. She was featured in VoyageKC Magazine in 2022, Bold Journey Magazine in 2023, and CanvasRebel Magazine in 2025, highlighting her dedication to music, education, and the performing arts.
